The book of Acts gives us a rough outline for our way of life. Since we are to live by the examples set forth in the bible, we also need to understand how it was done.
Repent and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Yashua Messiah, to get rid of your sins, and ye (all of you) will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Peter said this to those there at the time referring to the way people were to begin their new life as a believer. We have to remember that these came from all over the known world to Jerusalem to partake in the feast. But were these just people coming to worship? No. These were of the 12 tribes. So if the 12 tribes were to follow the baptism, (which we saw in another post was Death, Burial, and Resurrection) what about someone not from the 12?
Everyone was to be baptised. That was the way to get rid of your old man, and become new. No one was, or is, exempt from this requirement.
But what about the gentile believers who wanted a renewed life in Yashua?
""You must abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals, and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell.” So the men were sent off and went down to Antioch, where they assembled the congregation and delivered the letter..."
This was after professing and then baptism. There are several examples of gentiles being baptized in the old texts. And after, we see that community worked well. They had all things equal. None of them was without food, water, clothing, shelter, and land to keep the community growing and fed.
This is a society that is sustainable. Most folks will argue that it is immposible to keep this kind of society alive, but in reality it would work when everyone did their part to keep it going. If mankind would forget about their selfish selves, and worry about the needs of others, then we wouldnt have to worry about war, and starvation, and thirst, and housing.
Everyone is willing to work for a buck, but not many are willing to work for the betterment of mankind. We need to come together and help each other instead of fighting about nonsense.
We need to bring back barter, and individual trade. We need to have a society where if there is a need it will be taken care of quickly.
That is what we are to be doing in our day. That is what the Almighty wants from us. That is what he has been wanting from the beginning.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I hope that you all are with me in this thinking. It needs to change before we can change things.
Have a great time where ever you are, and please help in your hometown to show others that we can live the life of Acts.
