You know what? I hate grammar! That is a FACT! But what I hate more than correct grammar, is a Grammar Nazi!
You could be going about your day butchering the language, (for me it's English) and standing next to you is a guy or gal ready to put the hammer down!
And they will even come to your home trying to get info from you. It isn't that that I don't want to try to speak better, it's that I can't even dangle a participle without some backlash!!
Why must I speak correctly? Is there some rule that says I have to? Society is full of guys and gals speaking their own way. But one thing that gets me, (and even I know it's wrong) is when someone ends a sentence in a preposition! The word AT. "Where you at?" I mean, ARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!
Ok, so I got a bit angry and I shouldn't be. I mean, how often do I find myself saying the wrong thing? All the time. I mean ALL THE TIME! Don't I have that right to mess up whenever I want? And why do others have to chime in? Is it because they have no life, or nothing better to do?
I don't know. How about we all just get along? Can we not coexist without fixing a word here or there? Are we so fixated on the proper pronunciation that we forget how to relax with the syntax? Maybe. So what word do you hate that everyone says incorrectly?
As I stated above, the word "at" gets me every time. I find myself saying slyly under my breath, "where are you?" I think I roll my eyes too!
(This post is pure satire, and is being posted because I liked the YouTube videos about Grammar Nazis. Watch the vids and have a laugh with me! HAHAHA!)
