They pay employees that also have to pay:
- Sales taxes
- Property Taxes (even if they are renting - its baked into the cost of their rent)
- Income taxe (they would work for 30% less money if they didn't get it deducted at the source)
The compound effects of taxation are crazy once you start looking into it.
