our new 'fridge'!
We didn't "get" the keys to our new house: they were already in the doors; a local norm that happens even in the central piazza in the busiest shops. It is very reassuring to see keys in doors; a sign that all folks live in trust of the other. We are recognising that level of confidence in the secure nature of the town, and feeling all the more secure here, as we are along this rough track that very few people - bar @vincentnijman and I - have reason to wander down. It's the equivalent of having major fortifications 😋🤗
our roof-top 'hot water tank' which heats with the sun, then allows us a fabulous shower below in the pigsty of an evening!
I have missed a feeling of deep security, safety, comfort. It feels quite ironic, that we found our twinflame/ life partner connection, and our land and home - and yet things felt progressively more uncomfortable and unstable.
The Nature of Quantum change, eh! 🙏🌟 Energy-shifting on this level certainly requires great transformation, which in turn requires great sacrifice.
I often think about the balance of sacrifice 'vs' stability: where does the 'right' balance lay? Our most dynamic up-and-down; from the sleepless euphoric hallucinations of our initial meeting, our dramatic flitting from Italy to Portugal, Spain, and Italy again, the house and land hunting, the intensity of family dramas and our avoiding them, the escape from Guardia Sanframondi, the desperate attempts to shelter in the coldest and now the hottest months... What stability have we founded, to provide a strong foundation for our longterm Sovereign life together??
the hayloft - a promising space for our bedroom - just have to move a LOTof hay!
It all comes together for us now in these six quirky rooms in an L-shaped earthen haven. The angle of this L is where the strongest and safest part of the home will be carved out: a one-up/ one-down original masseria or farm-ish building; deep, protective natural stone walls with a super-simple roof that even we can repair when needed. The other additions are basic, modern and super-functional. Already we have them cleared - the older building is in the slow process of being emptied of some tons of antique straw - and today we get to lay on a cool cement floor under a gloriously luxurious mosquito net, and rest at the peak scorching hour of the day.
We already whitewashed part of this room - the largest, at around 4 x 4 (x.2.5) metres - and have moved some food and dishes down too. Our veggies get to benefit too from this cooler sanctuary. Now we get to design the place a bit more: it's wonderfully sturdy, uncomplicated and requiring just the amount of grit, skills, motivation and strength of spirit that Beloved Vincent and I still have oodles of.
