"Becoming less and less frequent here. Sincerely since I've been away i've not been completely happy with myself. My little hatred for school i could say is growing and distorting my attitude towards it. I no longer read like i used to, stay up late like i used to and i'm still having issues handling responsibilities, i could say i've gotten lazy. I embark on my days "planlessly", no more adventures or daring acts. I'm just all to myself in my small little world while the enormous world waits to be explored.
How do i improve this lagging sides?
Since monday there has been this hullabaloo about SUG(Student Union Government) election , the second I've observed since i became a student here and the first I've actually been involved in. In my opinion, of course it should be, i'm the one with the pen, this so-called "campaign" which to them means writing on tarred roads, their names with white paint, posting bills of themselves in their best suits and a copied quote, drumming and disturbing the peace of the school. In the hostel we can hardly see the true face of the walls as it has been covered by different "campaign" bills. Who do they think they are dealing with?
.....Babies?
Huh?!
Well some of the school's populace are, majority, just not me. I do not trust any of them,as a vying candidate would do anything to
Impress voters, again, NOT ME!
There are good ones, who actually when voted will discharge their duties but how do we spot them? Since they've all been masked by the cloud of corruption.
Got into an argument in class today with Easy, who claimed i was not patriotic becaus i told him i wasn't going to vote even if i had the chance - Now i ask, is voting a right or an obligation?. He again claimed that a patriot should select a good leader for his country.
But....
What if he knows not a good leader for his country?
I smell the reign of tyrants already. Compelled against our wish we have been led to vote for a candidate we know little or nothing about. We do not know if this candidate we've been asked to vote for is among the good ones or different. Lots of speculations have sprung up. I never really what was understood by "Corruption has eaten deep into the country", but it is crystal clear now. There is an adage which says "if you can't beat them you join them", but right now we can't even join them, we are just like puppets swung from left to right.
Nelson Mandela in whose name they campaign fought for freedom, i'd say that if he could see what's been done with his name and words, he would be utterly disappointed - Just the direct opposite of what he fought for"
Something light from a long time diary LOL!
