The government and the banks are pretty much hand in hand while they pretend to keep each other in check it's pretty obvious that they don't.

That is my hope too. Australians are a laid back people generally but that can also mean we can be a bit apathetic and ignorant. I am sure that is why they have been able to push so far here in the past.
