You nailed it. We grow grass and use the cattle and goats to harvest it and turn it into meat. We have not had to use fertilizer. We buy all our hay and that does put back a lot of nutrients into the soil.

No we do not alfalfa here is only used for horses and it is about three times more expensive than the grass hay we use for the cattle and goats. I am glad the rains finally came for you. Good to hear from
