Okay so let me properly explain this Steem Hop game because its one of those stupidly simple but mad addictive games that will make you lose like an hour without even realizing, I was playing it on http://steemhop.org on my phone at night around 23:54 and its basically a Crossy Road clone but with its own desert style, you control this little white block character that looks like a milk carton or a marshmallow with a red stripe on top and your whole job is just to hop forward as far as you can without getting hit, the map is this bright orange desert with these little stacked rock formations and tiny green trees lined up everywhere, and then you have different lanes you have to cross - you have the grey asphalt roads where purple and red and orange cars are just flying in both directions non stop, then you have the light blue river where you have to jump on the dark brown wooden logs that are floating and moving, and if you miss the log you drown and its game over, and then you have the train tracks which are the worst because those long purple and red trains come so fast and you can get stuck in the middle.
In the clip my first run was actually so bad, you can see at the top left I had -2 score and -1 score because I was still at the spawn area trying to time the cars, I had 164 coins saved already and my top score was showing as TOP 93 so I was trying to beat that, I tried to cross the road and then the river and I got onto a log at like score 1 but then I got hit instantly by a purple car right after I landed, the screen just froze and that big chunky 3D orange text popped up saying STEEM HOP on a light blue background and thats how you know you died, you get that big play button in the middle to restart, I restarted again at 0 score and you can see I was a bit more careful this time, I waited on the desert edge, I let two red cars pass, then jumped onto the log, then jumped again, the controls are just tap to hop forward but you can also swipe to go sideways which is important when a car is coming.
The second main run is where I actually started cooking, I was just hopping non stop forward and my score was climbing crazy fast, you can see it go from 7 to 11 to 12 to 13 to 14 to 19 to 21 to 22 to 25 to 26 to 31 to 32 and then all the way up to 42 and 44 and 49 and 54, and during that my coins were also going up from 164 to 166 to 168 to 170 to 172 because I was picking up those little gold coins with the S on them scattered on the tracks, the hardest part was definitely the train track area because there are like three train lanes back to back and there were even other characters running ahead of me like that guy with black hair and the red outfit and the guy in the cowboy hat, they distract you, and you also have the cars still in between the tracks so you have to look both ways, I was literally on edge hopping one lane at a time and then waiting, at score 54 I got greedy, I tried to cross two orange car lanes at once without waiting and my little white block got smashed in the middle of the road, again the STEEM HOP game over screen popped up with the play button and I was so annoyed because I was so close to beating my top 93.
Honestly thats what makes this game so good though, its on the website directly http://steemhop.org you dont need to download any app from play store its just a browser game that runs super smooth, on the bottom of the screen you have that little blue icon with a character face to change your skin and on the right side you have the music note and volume buttons which I always keep on because the hopping sound is satisfying, the graphics are super clean and colorful like isometric low poly style and it runs with no lag even on my old phone, its the perfect game when you are bored in bed or waiting for something and you just want to kill time, you will keep saying okay last try I need to beat 93 and then you die at like 6 or at 59 and you keep clicking play again and again, if you ever played Frogger or Crossy Road before you will instantly understand it but this desert version with the cars and logs and trains is even more rage inducing and fun, I ended up playing like 4-5 runs in that one recording and still didn't beat my top but I know I'm gonna beat it tomorrow.
