So this game is called Steem Hop and its from http://steemhop.org and if you have played Crossy Road before you will instantly understand it because its literally that same vibe but with its own twist, you are this small white chicken with a red comb on its head and your job is just to hop forward, left, right, back, trying to cross all these obstacles without dying, in the clip you can see at the start i am at like 2 points top 93 with 156 coins and the chicken is stuck on the railway tracks, there are two train tracks with purple trains passing and you have to time your jumps so you dont get hit, and below that there is the road with red and purple cars going left and right and then there is the river part with the wooden logs floating, you have to jump on the logs or you fall in water and die, its super simple but also very annoying.
What i noticed playing it is how fast it gets hard, like at the beginning at 0:00 to 0:02 i was on 2 points and 8 points and i was trying to cross the tracks and a train just smashed me, and the game is very unforgiving, you die once and it takes you straight to that blue screen with the big orange 3D STEEM HOP text, and your score resets to 0, top 93, 158 coins, you can see in the video i died like 4 times in a row, at one point i went to -1 and -2 because i tried to go backwards which is allowed but it reduces your score, and every time you die it shows that play button in the middle so you tap to restart, the controls are just tap forward to hop, swipe left or right, there are also those two blue buttons at bottom right for music and sound, and at bottom left a small chicken icon, the whole map is this orange desert with some rocks and small green trees, it looks very low poly and cute.
The main goal is to get as far as possible and collect coins, you can see at top right i had 156 then 157 then 158 then 160 coins, those gold coins with dollar sign you collect while hopping, sometimes they are on the tracks between the trains like at 0:03 you can see a coin sitting on the rail and you have to risk it to grab it, and the top left shows your current score and your best which is TOP 93 in my case meaning my highest before was 93 hops, and the timer at top is 00:36 00:37 00:38, so its a quick session game you can play on your phone browser, no need to download, just go to http://steemhop.org and it loads, thats why the URL bar is showing at bottom of the video, its literally a web game, i was playing it on Safari on iPhone, you can see the signal and battery icons at top.
Honestly its one of those games that looks easy but will make you rage, because the cars dont stop, the trains come fast, the logs move, and the chicken moves a bit slow, at 0:07 to 0:12 i was that white chicken trying to cross the road with red cars, i hopped on a car by mistake and died again, then at 0:20 i spawned back again from zero, and later at 0:24 to 0:30 i finally got some rhythm, i went from 2 to 7 to 8 to 10 to 11 points, i was jumping over the tracks, dodging the purple cars, waiting for the train to pass, collecting coins, and at 0:38 i was about to grab a coin on the track but the train came, its addictive because you just want to beat your top score, its not deep or story based, just pure hop and survive, perfect for killing time when you are bored.
