It’s been a while since I dropped any lifestyle content on here and I feel like this is what I’m going back to for the rest of this week and maybe even next week if I get more moments like today. Me and my guy decided to link up tonight because his female dog just went on heat and he needed to mate her. The whole thing was happening late, so the place was dark and quiet, just us and the two dogs on a dusty ground. My friend has been raising his female for a while and he takes care of her properly, so when he noticed she was ready he started calling around to find a good male of the same breed. That’s how we ended up with this dark male dog that belongs to another breeder we know.
The male dog is dark, big, but you could tell straight away that he’s been through some stuff. According to the owner, the father of this male was a very strong dog that gave birth to 10 puppies. He sold some of them off and this male was part of the litter that got sold to one guy. That same guy actually bought two dogs from that litter, this male and another one from the same mother. But the problem is the guy is always busy with work stress and he doesn’t really have time to feed them well or take proper care. That’s why this male looks a bit malnourished compared to how he should be. You can see his ribs a little, his coat isn’t as shiny, and he’s not as bulky as dogs of his breed usually are. Still though, he has the structure and the size, you can tell the bloodline is good.
When we brought them together the female was already showing signs, she was restless and following him around. She’s lighter in color, well fed, and looks healthy because my friend doesn’t joke with her food and treatment. The male was panting a lot, tongue out, and his eyes were catching the light in that greenish way when we used the torch. At first they were just sniffing and walking around each other, then it happened. The mating took a while because the ground was dusty and we had to make sure nothing disturbed them. We just stood there watching, making sure they were safe. The female had a chain on her too and you could hear it dragging on the ground as they moved. It felt weird but also normal, like this is just part of dog breeding when you’re trying to keep a good line going.
After they were done the male just stood there breathing hard with his tongue hanging out, looking tired but satisfied. The female walked around a bit too, also panting. My friend was happy because this is the first time for her and he’s hoping for a good litter. For me it was just one of those real life moments I don’t usually post, but I think this is the kind of content I want to do more of till the end of this week and into next week. Just real, everyday stuff. Talking to the owner of the male made me realize how much work and responsibility goes into raising these dogs, especially when people buy them and don’t have time. Hopefully the new owner of the puppies will do better. For now we just left them to rest and I took some clips for memory.
