MY SQUAD FOR THE LEAGUE MATCH
This eFootball league match was one of those games where my heart was pounding the whole time bro. I was playing as Manchester B in blue and my opponent was Ipswich BW in green and yellow. From kickoff you could tell it wasnāt going to be easy because the guy was pressing me high and not giving me space to build up. First 20 minutes were just midfield battle. I had Gerrard dropping deep, Rooney trying to find pockets, but Ipswich were cutting every passing lane. The crowd in the eFootball Stadium was loud and you could feel the tension because itās Matchday 5 and points are serious. I tried a few shots from outside but nothing was going in. Both defenses were solid and the keeper was saving everything. I kept telling myself to be patient because forcing it was going to cost me on the counter.
The breakthrough finally came around the 80th minute and it was pure relief. I worked the ball out wide, played a quick pass inside to Sergio Aguero just outside the box. He had his back to goal, laid it off and made the run. I slipped it back to him and he took one touch before smashing it low past the keeper. 1-0 up and I jumped off my seat. I started thinking okay maybe I can close this out and get the 3 points. But eFootball league matches never let you breathe. Literally 3 minutes later they punished me. One long ball over the top, their winger got in behind my high line, and before I could switch to my CB he slotted it in. 1-1. I was so mad at myself because I was already thinking about the win instead of staying focused. The game got scrappy after that, both of us making subs. I brought on Mac Allister, Steven Gerrard, Kevin De Bruyne to try and take control again.
The last 10 minutes were just chaos. Clock hit 85, 86, 87 and I could feel the draw coming if I didnāt do something. I switched to more attacking, pushed my fullbacks up, and started pinging balls into the box. Nothing was working. Every cross was blocked, every through ball was cut out. Then 87th minute happened. I won the ball with Rooney in the middle, he turned and found Pavel Nedved. Nedved did a little skill to beat one man, looked up and saw Rooney making the run. I played the through ball and it was perfect. Rooney took it in stride, one touch, and buried it into the bottom corner. 2-1. The replay showed how calm he was with defenders closing him down. I screamed so loud my neighbors probably heard me. That goal felt earned because we worked it through midfield instead of just spamming through balls.
After scoring I immediately went into damage control mode. I subbed in defenders, switched tactics to defensive, and told myself no stupid mistakes. Ipswich threw everything at me in stoppage time. They had Beckham whipping in crosses, Rooney dropping deep, even their CBs were coming up. My backline was under so much pressure. Every tackle felt like a final. There was one moment around 90+2 where they got a shot off inside the box but my keeper pulled off a crazy save. I was just clearing the ball anywhere at that point. The game showed āYouāre Rushing the Playā on screen because I was panicking but I didnāt care. I just needed the whistle.
When the ref finally blew for full time it was Manchester B 2-1 Ipswich BW. I just sat back and exhaled. Aguero got the opener, Rooney got the winner, and my defense held on for dear life at the end. Winning a league match 2-1 like that hits different because you have to fight for every point. The opponent was good too, he didnāt give up till the last second. But taking those 3 points on Matchday 5 gives me confidence for the next one. Next time I need to manage the game better after scoring first though because I canāt keep conceding like that. Still, a win is a win and Iāll take it šŖ
