The Traveler
Millennial travelers aren’t so uncommon nowadays. Some travelers prefer luxurious travels on cruises, flying business class on flights to New York or Los Angeles and 5-star hotels, whereas others would prefer solo budget traveling via promotion flights, night trains and backpacker hostels. My name’s Elysia from Malaysia and I grew up in Kuala Lumpur, surrounded by a mix of various cultures. I am, without a doubt, a travel enthusiast and a backpacker. Not only am I a traveler, but I am also a musician, a writer, an event planner and a freelance talent. I tend to keep myself busy by freelancing through life a day at a time. I’ve never liked being tied to the 9:00am – 5:00pm office hours because I’d feel trapped. There’s so much more to life than punching a bunch of numbers into a system and looking at a screen for 7 hours a day.
Friends and family have constantly asked me questions like – How do you afford traveling so often? How do you plan your travels? Where do you find the time to travel? I’m not going to lie, it’s not all daisies and candy.
I’ve traveled to approximately 15 countries and have explored nearly 50 cities within two years – all while completing my Bachelor’s Degree. At 24 years old, I’ve made friends and business contacts from across the world, stayed with families and have couch-surfed with other university students. This post is to give you an idea on the type of person I am; I’ll be here to provide tips and tricks on making the most of your travels without being such a worrywart about expenses, time and so on. I’ll be sharing my experiences, how I plan my travels from selecting the perfect flight to the number of shirts to pack.
