We are spending 3 days in Malaga Spain on a little getaway. We arrived here last night and went for a nice little meal under the castle.
There are two major changes about this break that’s sets it apart from the rest.
We are leaving our daughter with her grandparents for the three days. This is the longest we have ever left her so far so it is a massive deal for us especially my wife. They have quite the little bond going. But this will be good for my wife as she needs a break. She’s a grafter and is always working on something so it will be nice to just chill for 3 days.
My wife’s friend is a consultant in a hospital and she highly recommended a hostel in Malaga . She claims it is better than any hotel. This consultant is not short of cash so it interested ya to stay somewhere quirky. The hostel is called Picnic Dreams and it is rather quirky. I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to staying in a hostel but I have to say I cannot see a difference as of yet.
The only downside is we are on a busy bar street and there noise until around 2am but as I said to my wife. , hopefully we will be in the middle of them tomorrow night. 😂😂. We decided to have an early night last night because we were wrecked from the journey so it wasn’t ideal there were people shouting and roaring at 1am. The hostel does provide ear plugs as it is fully aware of the noise that happens. I didn’t mind it really.
No recession in Malaga with loads of people wining and dining and having fun on a bloody Tuesday night. First thoughts are it is a nice little vibrant city and I’m looking forward to exploring it this morning.
I lived in Spain for the guts of a year so the language is easy enough for me. Nowhere near fluent but I can do the basics . English would not be strong in these parts unless you go further up the strip.
We had a nice tasty meal in a place called Il Pimpi last night. I had fish for the first time since the food poisoning and I feel ok now .
I downloaded a book to the kindle “Turbulent times for Ryanair’s Michael O Leary”. One of my hero’s. So now all I have to do is get back into the different ways you order bloody coffee down here but Cafe con leche is pretty much the way to go. Maybe a couple of cervezas after it when the wife goes shopping.
