Last week there was an incident at the local dojo, I just learned about it last night. A student, age 12, was trying for her brown belt. Another student, age 16, decided to bully her while the sensei was in the washroom.
The parents of the bully are now trying to sue the dojo for just under a quarter of a million dollars, and trying to sue the parents of the girl, because the bully's arm was broken.
Apparently he tackled her trying to hold her down claiming he was "trying to spar with her", and she threw him off of her and he landed badly and broke his arm.
Apparently the CCTV showed the boy attack her, first, and she defended herself, so, it's likely that lawsuit will go nowhere.
