It would be great if it was Steem but we will have to see.

Someone needs to build a social blockchain application capable of scaling to 50-100 million users. It needs to be completely rethought and strategically executed very much like the early days of Facebook

I agree with @paulag. Also, we know from @arcange's data analysis that 1 million people did not sign up for steemit.com because less than 600k accounts have ever been used at least once.

The community and relationships built over time do make Steem very special.

I hope so but Steem Engine does enable almost the exact functionality of SMTs and Communities so I think anyone who would launch one has or should be experimenting on SE. It's been fun to watch SE but

For me, I had hopes that Steem was going to be the blockchain platform to tokenized all corners of the social and content web but now it feels like a small, niche social club or community more or less.

I left Steemit, Inc a few months ago for better opportunities in the crypto space. @steevc
