TRUE LOVE 2
There is no fear in love: true love has no room for fear, because where fear is, there is pain; and he who is not free from fear is not complete in love. We have the power of loving, because He first had lope for us.
1 John 4:1849 (BBE)
Beloved, true love cannot be measured by feelings. God’s love for us is unconditional and cannot be measured by feelings or circumstances. “We understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.” (Romans 5:7-8. MSG). True love is unconditional love.
- True love is not self-seeking, it is sacrificial. “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son.” (John 3:16)
- True love takes responsibility. “For this reason a man shall leave [behind] his father and his mother and be joined to his wife and cleave closely to her permanently... What therefore God has united (joined together), let not man separate or divide.” (Mark 1O:7&9. AMP)
- True love overlooks offence. “Smart people know how to hold their tongue; their grandeur is to forgive and forget”. (Proverbs 19:11. MSG)
- True love is not proud, touchy, easily offended, rude or arrogant. “Love is never tired of waiting; love is kind; love has no envy; love has no high opinion of itself love has no pride; Love’s ways are ever fair…” (1 Corinthians 13:4-5. BBE).
True love makes effort in maintaining peace. People who don’t know how to pursue peace multiply adversaries. Anyone that enjoys in the calamity of others cannot escape calamities. Those who love God always seek for peace. “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” (Matthew 5:9). Pursue true love.
