I'm content and very happy...and (almost) snuggled in for the evening, I'm just about to take a long bubble bath and then it'll be couch-snuggle time, which is the perfect way to end a Christmas day.
I've been so lucky to not have had to lift a finger today, or for the last few days really; my partner has given me the gift of time by insisting that he would handle everything for the weekend and Christmas day which was a nice gesture - the nicest Christmas gift to get. Well, he's the nicest gift to have really, but I have him already so I'll accept the time gift.
We had a lovely lunch of roast turkey with cranberry sauce, assorted vegetables slathered with cheese sauce, some garlic bread then, some time later, Christmas pudding with brandy custard drizzled on top and coffee, as pictured...all made and prepared by that man of mine - He did all the cleaning up also. Later, we watched some movies on the couch and relaxed...I might have fallen asleep for a little while too. Now the evening approaches I'm off for a bubble bath and later we'll pick over some leftovers when we get hungry and while we continue watching movies.
I can't imagine a better way to spend the day, or a better person to spend it with.

It's been a very relaxed Christmas but that's what we like; a minimum of fuss but good quality food and peace and quiet, good conversation, soft music and time to connect with each other and be grateful for the other person and what we have together; that's the true gift in my life and I'm thankful for it. It seems like a nice way to spend this time of year.
I'd like to wish those who regularly read and comment on my posts, and anyone who happens across this post, a Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year, may you find happiness and prosperity.
