My worry if this is implemented is that bots will hide in the shadows rather than be up-front. Right now there is an open discord for most of the mainstream bots. There is discussion for their pricing

I should have caveated my article that I think, as a result of the reward rework which moved a lot of rewards to Diamond/Champ, the ROI is going to be worse in lower leagues. So it might lean towards renting
