If you could translate the UNL idea into STEEM, it's like a witnesses list that any witness would have. So for example, @blocktrades could have an "UNL" with 50 witnesses that he would like to

A malevolent actor could buy old accounts I agree each parameter that constitutes a REP could be gamed. A malevolent actor could buy not just an old account but a "good REP" account, after analizing

Thank you @novacadian!

Thank you @stoodkev! In my opinion "STEEM REDPOS" doesn't need to be theoretically perfect. Actually any protocol will have its flaws. But "STEEM REDPOS" should just be better than

STEEM has the advantage that no witness knew they were "mining REP" for 4 years. So if you implement a better REP system (perhaps taking parameters such as account age) and then convert the current

First, thanks for your opinion @valued-customer , I felt this post was just too large as a comment at The History of Delegated Proof-of-Stake I think, every system can be attacked (51% attack on PoW, etc,

This is what makes Steem what it is. The developers, stakeholders, witnesses, businesses, bloggers, and the casual voters and observers are what make Steem a thing worth salvaging. All of these people

I don't know about you, but I don't want a HF. Seriously. I just want our "home" safe. If however a HF takes place, I hope the DPOS protocol turns into what I would call a REDPOS protocol to

Thank you @abiky! Let's push for an evolution of the DPOS protocol!

The REDPOS protocol concept (instead of DPOS) could help achieve decentralization.

@theoretical please have a look at the REDPOS protocol concept.

Lets explore the idea of evoluting the current Steem DPOS into Steem REDPOS to avoid future Justin Sun's events.

Steem DPOS protocol needs to evolve into Steem REDPOS

Here I define "REDPOS" as a DPOS protocol evolution thanks to the reputation factor.

Back in 2014 Ripple trusted in Justin Sun to represent them in China. He instead, using that position, created TRON. He doesn't care about STEEM, for him steemit.com and STEEM are just disposable resources

@asimplemam if it's only "Proof of Stake" the witness can only vote himself (using the voting power of his account). When its Delegated Proof of Stake the witness account gets "delegated"

I'm afraid that's his goal. I don't see how a hard fork can be avoided at this point.

@blocktrades I hope you can develop such an improved reputation system and use it to filter fake suckpuppet witnesses in the future.

How can he make money from Steem? Without our help, all he can do is sell his tokens. He might recover his money, but he won't make any that way. Justin Sun acts like early days Microsoft, buying companies

limiting by rep is an arbitrary barrier to entry Like any treshold is arbitrary, of course. The intention is to help constitute a "proof of human". With no barrier, it is proven that 30 suckpuppet
