This is the Official Tourist Guide Information:
"The Library of Celsus is an ancient Roman building in Ephesus, Anatolia, now part of Selçuk, Turkey. It was built in honour of the Roman Senator Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, completed between circa 114–117 A.D. by Celsus' son, Gaius Julius Aquila". Quoted directly from Wikipedia [here]
However, This is the Un-Official factual story that I was informed about by the Tour Guide, from what I can remember him saying: "The Library was in fact very little used for actual reading, even though the locals may of been seen carrying them too and from this ancient building. Deep below the building were a complex maze of secret passageways mostly leading to the local Brothel. Drawings of certain sexual positions were carved on the Brothel walls to indicate exactly what they might enjoy doing! They were very clever these Romans, a very early form of "Point & Click" you might say, and no need for any complicated language difficulties."
