For some weeks, the shoes were telling me that the feet wearing them have grown bigger and now they need a bigger shoes. I didn’t neglect the call but I showed some procrastination in replacing the shoes because the feet were still accepting them though with a little reluctance. Finally, last Friday the shoes (or the feet??) decided to protest. When I went to take my younger one from school, the first thing he told me was, “Mom, my shoe is broken.” The lower part of a shoe was separated from the upper part. It was only partially attached. We go to home on foot and there is hardly any transport available quickly. You can understand we had a difficult walk that day. Though the shoe was mendable but I decided to buy new ones because the feet needed larger ones now.
So, this Sunday was another shopping for school. Unlike the last Sunday’s shopping experience, we didn’t have to run around the city but we just went to a shop and got within 10 minutes what we needed. We asked for the brand that is most famous for school shoes, but they didn’t have that. The shop-keeper presented us the shoes of some local company. He said that it was also good and would be easily used for an year. The body parts of kids are growing. If something fits on them for an year, it is fine as we have to replace them even if the product is not broken. I prefer to have school shoes with magic-chip instead of laces because they are quicker and easier to wear. The shop-keeper had asked ask which of the two we wanted to buy. As per our desire he displayed the shoes with magic-chip.
These shoes had two strips. I wanted to have one. I asked him if he had the shoes with one magic chip and strip. He replied in negative. Because the shoes were fitting perfectly in my son’s feet and he was loving them too, we bought that pair. These shoes cost us 750 PKR. The price is quite reasonable.
The shop we bought the shoes from was a moderately big shop. It had many shelves beautifully organized with variety of shoes, sandals and slippers for men, women and kids. I took snap shots of a couple of racks.
Market is a strange place. It attracts you to buy things that you don’t really need. Hehe. The sandals and slippers were calling for my attention. Yeah, I looked at them with appreciation but I knew I didn’t need one so I didn’t even think of buying them. I am not someone who would like to fill cupboards with unnecessary items. Yeah, the shoes and sandals are necessary but what if you have extra of them.
After buying the shoes we spent sometime wandering on the roads for a while. After the call of the feet, it was the time to respond to the demand of our tummies (tummies or taste buds? 🤔). It was strange that all of were craving for the burgers from a specific shop. So we reached there. The shop is quite a famous shop of the city named as “Khan Snacks". There is not a very large variety of items; only a few kind of burgers and broast are available. However, their taste is always the same and quite delicious. The size of burger is also bigger than other burger spots.
Before the covid attacked the world, the shop used to be a restaurant where there was a facility of dine in. During the lock down, the shop remained closed for some months. When the lock down was partially lifted, restaurants were allowed to open merely to give take away facility. The shop also started the service. We thought when the lock down would be fully lifted this restaurant would also resume its dine-in facility. Eating the freshly served warm food always has a better taste than that of a taken away cold food. Unfortunately, the shop never opened its dine-in facility and we are compelled to take the parcel whenever our taste buds crave for that particular taste. My husband says that the owner has an advantage on stopping the dine-in facility. He has lesser employees now so he is saving that money while the number of customers do not seem to reduce much. Perhaps due to the fondness for the taste.
Well what we bought from there were 2 zinger burgers for my sons and 2 chicken burger for me and my husband. Also, a cup of coleslaw extra. Its taste is also very delicious.
The whole treat cost us 1210 PKR. I don’t know the price of each. I just know that Zinger has higher price than that of chicken burger. Let me show you the opened box.
I am sorry for being unable to take a nicer picture. Let me tell you what each box contain. There is a burger 🍔 (of course), French fries 🍟, one sachet of ketchup (more than enough for a burger), one sachet of Raita (a sauce prepared with yogurt and spices) and a packet of coleslaw. That’s a good package in the price, isn’t it?
We enjoyed this meal with family watching a show on the T.V. This way our Sunday ended tantalising our taste buds with deliciousness.
