Good question to hold! Whatever it is, you’re inviting us all to consider the deeper consciousness shift needed to break free from oppressive systems, or at least consider what it would look like to create new systems and connections between things. This whole idea of the Commons has really been on my mind these days when thinking about what this alternative system could look like. With the commons there is an inherent acknowledgement of emergent patterns (and therefore radical change) that can occur when local systems interact with each other, inform each other, and spontaneously self-organize together. Something emerges as a result. This is a contrast to a centralized system that controls all systems, which we know doesn’t work for the whole. What also doesn’t work are resistance-based strategies created by activists who push fixed desired outcomes and demands that often don’t encompass the complexity of the world, nor does it build relationships across differences. It fuels separation and division.

So how can we all be a part of these emergent solutions? I’m curious about specifics, which I don’t really have in my mind right now.
