In the final analysis, energy is what makes the resources that sit here freely useful to Us. It takes energy to put them into useful configuration.
As for time being scarce... Consider the billions that go into work to plug Their energy in for the energy accounting tokens - whether grains, or gold (or anything else), spending Their time doing things They would rather not be doing but, perforce in this moneyed world, They need to do to survive.
And most of the jobs are ones that move money around, and overall up to the moneyed psychopaths presently in control on Our planet. 80% and more of Us do such jobs, from cashiers, sales, accounting, insurance, debt collecting, any and all things taxes, all banking (of course), and plenty more.
If money were not needed to live richly, if We all could access Our rightful wealth (We're all multimillionaires, but those moneyed psychopaths started putting Our wealth into Cestui Que Vie "trusts" centuries ago, with Them as "trustees" - as is succinctly put: “Own nothing; control everything.” —John D. Rockefeller - and We made slaves who take care of food/clothing/shelter for the masters), We would have that time to find what We love to do that helps the most...
And then fulfill Our potential, follow Our bliss, make Our dreams come true.
But as it is now... We waste Our time, never fulfilling any potential, and likely unhappy.
We don't have any real option to choose how to use each moment We have.
I'm guessing You're not reading the stuff I link (or You would know that I know We have free energy tech), but I will offer more anyway:
