Maybe the hardfork can be stopped by voting for witnesses who are against it. I understand @drakos, @krnel and @liberosist are against it - so if we can get them into the top 20 they might be able to stop

Doge has a few advantages over other coins a) it always works and never goes down, never had hard forks and never has problems that need to be reversed and b) it is on all the exchanges, it's on all the

MY VOCAB PRACTICE: The choir sang in unison. The clock made a sonorous chime at the top of the hour. As Concorde flew through the sound barrier, a sonic boom cracked the air. Emmanuel Macron exhibited

MY VOCAB PRACTICE: The Australians have had a world record 27 consecutive years of economic growth. The G7 leaders issued their press releases in a choreographed sequence. The sequel to Star Wars was better

What I find frustrating about this platform is that the dolphins, whales and minnows tend to vote exclusively on posts talking about steem: posts on the hard fork, posts on steem spam, posts on the steem

How does this work for delegated steempower? Say someone delegates steempower to you, but your voting power is 50%. Does the delegated steempower hit at 50% or 100%?

I'd vote for a delay. Best to get things right than make a mess. Is there a list of what each witness favours? Perhaps we can influence a delay by changing our witness votes.

It's in the desert in a place with low humidity!!! Evaporation rates will be twice as fast as elsewhere. There is always new water needed because about a third will get lost each week through evaporation.

It looks beautiful - but I shudder to think how much water they're wasting given that the south-west USA is in near drought conditions.

To be fair, California has more than one industry. The tech stuff, the holywood stuff and agriculture.

Yes. Especially as their middle classes want to eat more than rice and vegetables.

It's at a tipping point. China's workforce is dropping though, so they may end up getting old before they get rich.

As far as I can tell, they've been running a surplus since 2013, and have cleared what Governor Brown called the "wall of debt" - the short-term debt of $35bn that was due within a few years.

Yes. Though if the weather turns, they're going to be faced with buying expensive grain due to their own tariffs.

You have to wonder how long the farce of the EU will continue, given these hostilities.

Banking profits were down that year. Basically New York is dependent on the banking industry, California on tech and Texas on oil. If any of those industries has a downturn, tax revenue turns down.

The Q2 figures are going to be very important. If the UK outperforms the EU, they might be scared enough to give us a deal to avoid getting cut off from a major consumer market (us).

If the UK could export more, it would give us more room to cut debt and not worry about domestic spending.

Yes you are right. The ban on plastics combined with the rise of electric cars will definitely make a dent in the demand for oil.
