Here you will find some of the most beautiful sunsets I have encountered during my travels. I hope they make you feel you are travelling too and most important, they make you catch and enjoy your next sunset.
1. New Zealand:
Sometimes when I am in nature I like to go to remote places to find beautiful sunsets no matter how I need to get there. I first make sure on which side the sun is gonna set, go straight to Google maps and just pick a place where I think it'll be a good spot. Some are great and others aren't, but you never know if you don't go. That's the fun of it.
With this sunset in particular I drove back with a big smile. It was such a remote place with nothing around, only nature and more nature. And then there was this, laying there just for me to take pictures of it. With nothing to distract me.
The best shots are the ones you find without expecting them, at least the ones that make you happier. So if you like sunsets get out and explore, you never know what you will find until you do.
2. Cambodia:
Without a doubt one of my favourite places on earth. Not only for the architecture, that it's incredible, but also because it's completely conquered by nature.
To see how roots, trees and plants have taken over the place is fascinating. It looks like you were teleported to the past and saw the end of civilization.
The whole site is worth going once in a lifetime, I assure you that you won't regret.
3. The Philippines:
People gathering to watch the sunset at the paradisiacal beach of Las Cabañas. No wonder why so many people go there, it's a magical place during the day with a last gift at sunset time.
Very accessible from El Nido, only a few minutes ride on a tuk tuk. There you will spend the day drinking milkshakes (or whatever you fancy more) on a swing facing the sea with music in the background. If that's not paradise I don't know what it could be.
4. Australia:
Magnetic Island, apart from being really beautiful and not too crowded, you could enjoy tranquil days at the beach, seeing breathtaking sunsets like this and we even went to a koala sanctuary where we could see koalas pretty close and even hug them! This island has one of the highest population of koalas! So, you should consider stopping at Magnetic Island if you are around.
5. Thailand:
Colourful sunset at Ko Pha-ngan in Thailand just right before the famous full moon party!
Thailand is another country full of hidden places to immerse not just in its culture but in its endless beauty. Take a taxi from down town to "Secret beach" where you can watch sunsets like this.
6. Spain:
Sunset at the mountain range in Cáceres province.
Such a tranquil place, free of crowds and tourists where you can feel the freedom on its nature.
