Can't disagree much here, had a talk about this with someone the other day, as comparison we've onboarded over 4000 real users in 4 years for maybe max $10k in rewards to onboarders, with over 15% still active to this day.

We need users, not brand awareness, that's for the giants competing against each other where millions of $ are nothing to them and not stifling everything being built here relying on the price of Hive.
