Where does it come from shaking hands

This is a custom that is not from modern times but comes from antiquity.
Formerly when someone came to the community offered his hand to indicate that he had no weapon and therefore was not going to attack. It was his way of indicating that they were in peace.
The handshake today is extended worldwide as a greeting, to close agreements, etc.
