I like this question, I'm have tempted to do an article on it and elaborate more. Perhaps show other items I considered. Anyways I go with stuff I actually own: my buck knife which has a fire starter, a #8 cast iron pan, and a medium axe. My philosophy is to enjoy myself a little bit than build something for my departure.
